National Statistical Center (NSC)

The National Statistical Center was inaugurated in 1993 but it has existed under different names since 1978.

National Statistical Center is a part of the Committee for Planning and Cooperation that has a status equal to a department. It is a core in coordination, research, implementation and control all national statistics activities in Lao PDR.

Function of NSC

The task of the National Statistical Center is collecting and analyzing data on national basic. It is the center of socio-economic data that were supplied to various organization of government in different sector and local levels of research on policies and socio-economic management. It is also the center of coordination with all statistical agencies for managing the national statistical system, as well as the service center for supplying socio-economic statistics to different users.
